Chelsea are willing to offer £35million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chelsea are willing to go as high as £35million for Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who they are interested in signing this summer and who has just one year left on his current deal.

There have been reports for a while now that Antonio Conte would like to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to strengthen his squad for the season ahead. The Ox is a versatile player who can and has played in midfield, attacking midfield, as a winger and most recently as a wing-back making him a perfect fit for Conte's 3-4-3 system while offering potential cover in multiple positions.

He's also an England international which Chelsea don't have too many off at the moment and so would help with some of the homegrown quotas.

Arsenal are apparently not interested in selling Oxlade-Chamberlain but that leaves them facing the same dilemma which they have with Alexis Sanchez, do they keep the Ox this summer or risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season since he has just one year left on his contract.

If Conte wants him and thinks that he will improve and strengthen the squad then I say go and get him. His versatility will be useful as he can provide cover for several positions and, well who would have thought this time last year that Victor Moses would become a wing-back and key player at Chelsea? Who's to say that the same can't happen for Oxlade-Chamberlain now that he looks to be playing the wing-back position.

Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in him but for Arsenal it makes no sense to lose. If two teams in the Champions League are looking at signing him to strengthen their squads surely that means he is good enough to strengthen Arsenal's squad? Then there is the whole thing of not wanting to aid a rival and fix their problems, especially ones that beat you to a top four spot last season.
