Conte to leave Chelsea in the next 48 hours?
A lot of news outlets are reporting that Antonio Conte will either be sacked or will be leaving Chelsea in the next 48 hours.
Either way it amounts to the same thing, he will no longer be Chelsea manager and he will be paid off somehow.
If these reports are right and it'll be 48 hours, that takes us to Wednesday. Why wait so long? Has him winning the FA Cup really changed things? Does that really repair his relationship with the board? Does it make up for all the moaning and negativity this season?
Just get it over with. Either he's staying or he's leaving. Just get it over with. You've had months and months to think and plan, so just get on with it.
That is the thing that is bugging me most right now, the uncertainty. I think it has been and still is affecting the players.
Several players futures, most notably Eden Hazard's, are a bit up in the air at the moment, they don't have long to run on their contracts, the squad needs rebuilding, transfers are going to be slightly more difficult without Champions League football to offer, and then of course there is the small matter of the World Cup getting in the way. Oh let's not forget about the Premier League weekend closing early this year as well, can't forget about that.
This summer is going to be a bit of a mad scramble for a lot of clubs in England and with the amount of work we need to do, we need to get the issue of the manager sorted as soon as possible, end the uncertainty so we can focus on getting ready for next season.
The transfer window is already open and other clubs are already making signings, we're still debating whether Conte stays or not.
